The GREAT seal of the United States.
13 in the United States is an unlucky number but in reality, it's the number of states that started our country. It's in honor of that fact that we use it in the motif of the seal of the United States of America. The official description says the seal should have thirteen stars in the "glory" on top of the eagle's head. There should be 13 stripes on the shield. Also 13 arrows in the eagle’s talon. In the initial description, there was no description of the 13 levels to the pyramid, but it was revised, and it was put in the final version. Every depiction typically still shows 13 levels. Also by custom, since 1885, there are 13 olives and leaves on the olive branch. Even the motto has 13 letters in it "e pluribus unum" and "annuit cœptis") althought that seems to be coincidental.
